Qualification Procedure:

The qualification procedures below are for the 2009-2010 competitive season.
  • A club's athletes of the same level will not be broken across sessions (except if a club has athletes participating in the state team competition).
  • Age divisions will be determined by number of gymnasts in session, not to excede 24 per age division.

Individual Athlete Qualification

  1. Gymnasts must qualify to their State Meet to attend the Region 8 Prep Optional Championship.
  2. States can set their own qualifying scores to the Championship. Each state decides what level teams to send to Regionals.
  3. Each state will set their own procedure to qualify to Regionals.

State Team Qualification

  1. It is recommended that the state team be comprised of the top 6 scores from each level, regardless of age division.
  2. Each state must endorse the State Team Competition. If your state does not endorse the State Team Competition at a certain level, there may be no State Team Competition for that level from your state at PREP Optional Regionals.
  3. Although it is by no means required, many of the state teams involved in the state team championship choose to wear state team apparel.
